What the agent gets
- Issue search by keyword, state, account, assignee, tags, or custom fields, plus each issue’s full message history.
- Accounts and contacts, including custom field values, and Pylon team members and teams.
- Knowledge base search and article reads.
- Feature requests, tasks, projects, call recordings, and surveys when your Pylon plan includes them.
Setup
- A Pylon admin turns on the MCP server under Settings → AI Controls → MCP Server in Pylon.
- The person connecting needs the MCP Access role in Pylon.
- Click Connect in Rippit and sign in to Pylon. Rippit registers itself automatically, so there is no client ID, client secret, or API key to enter.
https://mcp.eu.usepylon.com as a custom server instead.
Identity and scope
The connection acts as the Pylon user who signed in, and the agent sees only what that user can see in Pylon. Which tools appear also depends on that user’s permissions and your Pylon plan. If you share the connection organization-wide, everyone using the agent reads Pylon as that person. Connect with an account whose access you are comfortable sharing that way.Tools
The main read tools are below. Manage tools on the connection card lists every tool your connection has. Enable a tool there if it is not already on.
Pylon also offers tools that change your workspace: creating and updating issues, posting internal notes, editing accounts and contacts, publishing articles, and saving triggers and macros.
send_issue_reply sends a message straight to the customer and cannot be unsent. Turn write tools on in Manage tools only if you want the agent to take those actions.
