# Profound

> Let the Rippit agent read how your brand shows up in AI search alongside your conversation data.

Connect Profound when what customers say needs to be read against what AI answer engines say about you: a wave of tickets that repeats an inaccurate claim ChatGPT makes, a competitor gaining share in AI answers for the topics your customers ask about, or AI referral traffic that explains a change in who is contacting support. The Rippit agent reads your Profound reports and cites them in its answer.

## What the agent gets

* **Visibility reports**: how often your brand appears in AI answers, broken down by AI engine, topic, region, prompt, or persona.
* **Sentiment and FactCheck**: what AI answers say about your brand or a competitor, the themes behind it, and inaccurate claims.
* **Citations**: which domains and pages AI engines cite for your category.
* **Shopping and prompt volume**: how your products and retailers appear in AI shopping results, and how often people ask AI about a keyword.
* **Agent Analytics**: AI referral visits and AI crawler activity on your domains.

## Setup

Profound MCP is available on Profound's Enterprise plan.

Click **Connect** and pick one of two ways to sign in:

* **My Profound account.** Click **Continue to Profound** and sign in. Rippit registers itself automatically, so there is no client ID or client secret to create.
* **Profound API key.** Create a key under **API Keys** in your Profound account settings and paste it in.

## Identity and scope

Signing in acts as that Profound user, and the agent sees only the organizations and data that user can see. If you share a signed-in connection organization-wide, everyone using the agent reads Profound as that person.

An API-key connection is organization-wide and acts as the Profound user who created the key. Create the key from an account whose access you are comfortable sharing with everyone using the agent.

## Tools

When you enable the connection, each of the following tools can be enabled / disabled. Tools can be bulk enabled or selected individually. The table lists the main read tools, and **Manage tools** on the connection card lists every tool your connection has.

| Tool | What it does |
| - | - |
| `whoami` | Show which Profound user, organizations, and entitlements the connection uses |
| `list_organizations` | List the organizations you can access |
| `list_categories` | List tracked categories for an organization |
| `list_domains` | List tracked domains for an organization |
| `get_visibility_report` | Brand visibility in AI answers by model, topic, region, prompt, or persona |
| `get_sentiment_report` | Sentiment AI answers express about a brand, and the themes behind it |
| `get_citations_report` | Domains, pages, and citation categories AI engines cite |
| `get_prompt_answers` | The raw AI answers behind the metrics |
| `get_factcheck_claims` | Inaccurate claims identified in a category |
| `get_referrals_report` | Visits a domain received from AI engines |
| `get_bots_report` | AI crawlers visiting a domain |

Profound also offers tools that change your workspace: building, publishing, and running Workflows, creating and deleting prompts, adding Knowledge Base documents, and editing Docs and Projects. `delete_doc`, `delete_project_task`, and deleting prompts cannot be undone. Turn those on in **Manage tools** only if you want the agent to take those actions.
